I don't know. His number and age are the same, 37.

Hobbs, Nixon, Bullard, all physical, can play more early downs.

Give Jaire a bunch of 1st and 2nd downs off.

When we want a dawg out there to cover on 3rd down, still not many better in the league.

I don't think platooning him like that would justify his salary. He'd have to be amenable to a pay cut.

I've had the exact same thought. Weaponize him as a coverage specialist chess piece, minimize his snaps against the run to maximize his availability.

Completely agree. I know it's common for CBs to play all snaps but we have enough depth in the secondary to rotate both at CB and safety. The only player I can see not come off the field is McKinney.

Appreciate your optimism. But seemingly too early to get completely onboard. A top 5 pass rush with or without a blocking RB or 2nd TE would help this argument tremendously.

I could really not give a rip about his price at this point. It is what it is and to keep him fresh and healthy and use his skill to the best way possible do it. Man it's fun bitching when the dudes hurt and we are paying him... Or paying him NOT on the roster but imagine a chance of getting the most out of him. Being fresh bc of depth is awesome use of personal.

Not to mention, what got him paid handsomely was what he does as a cover corner against the top WRs in the game. So if you platoon him to focus on that and increase his availability, that arguably justifies his salary more than having him play full-time where he makes more bad plays in the run and increases his odds of getting injured.

Obviously this is not ideal, you want to pay top dollar for guys who are reliable than have to do this. But what's done is done, this is probably the best way to salvage the Ja situation.

Hafley was kind scrambling to answer the Jaire question in his PR. He didn’t praise him as the reporter teed him up to do. Not so sure on the legs behind this reconciliation, but hope it’s true.
