But I think he is wrong about this one. Wyatt has been decent enough. (and I think he is wrong about Golden too).

People paid millions of bucks to know the stuff you claim your buddy does, fail at this regularly, why would any of us put any stock in his opinions? you bring this guy to so many conversations as though it strengthens your opinion, heck Tex we have more faith in just you, than we've ever had in the your friend.
Golden is a polished receiver, good route runner, good hands, and he'll replace the field stretching ability we lost this season from WAtson, he'll help our passing game return to late 2023 form.

My friend who is the Eagles fan is not the friend that is always correct about players, although he also is more accurate than typical NFL GMs.Yoop wrote: ↑02 May 2025 07:59Is your friend a descendant of Johnny Carson? he seems to carry the Carnac the Magnificent ability to predict the future![]()

My friend who is correct about 95% of the time says that he likes the Golden pick and thinks Golden will be good for us.
fair enough, but a GM doesn't have the luxury to just pick the best player available, he's building a team, so he has to line up his pick with positional needs, we don't, so we can just say lets take Cooper Dejean over Morgan, but a good LT is much harder to find than a good CB, as someone said, God only made so many gifted 300 pounders.texas wrote: ↑03 May 2025 00:56My friend who is the Eagles fan is not the friend that is always correct about players, although he also is more accurate than typical NFL GMs.Yoop wrote: ↑02 May 2025 07:59Is your friend a descendant of Johnny Carson? he seems to carry the Carnac the Magnificent ability to predict the future![]()

every die hard fan knows more than your typical GM, just ask them

If this is true...your friend is in the wrong profession no matter what he is doing. I don't care if NFL teams black list him and don't give him an opportunity.
If anyone is right 95% on projecting sports results they need to at minimum live at a casino because the guy would be a billionaire after just one season. You only need to be right 52.4% of the time gambling on games professionally.

What are the parameters for judging your friend to be right or wrong? In this thread, you say you think he's wrong about Wyatt. Based on what objective criteria? Does that make him wrong? Anything concrete is fine - making the roster, attaining stats, starting, whatever. But if it's a subjective 'feel' for whether he was right that a certain player would suck or not...
results, and Tex can say whatever he wants, in fact, I'am not doubting him, except the result are not verifiable ,there just rumors spread from buddy to buddy, that's it, just look at the draft competition in this forum, Salmar nailed 8 teams first round picks, others with almost as many, one AI site naled 14 picks.
this, I got a buddy and he got such and such right, is also a way to add credit to a persons own opinion, to me that's about it

Although it's not really sports outcomes that he is great at (although he is probably better than average). He is great at evaluating players.

If you're batting 95% the entire world will demand his services. Because GMs are about 55% in the first round alone and it drops sharply after that.

I agree with your buddy, gambling has ruined more people than the stock market, which is another form of gambling as well, I have buddies who have lost their life savings at the casino, one guy, over and over, he's hooked on gambling, sad.
I don't agree that he's as knowledge as the NFL GM's and scouts though, that's to far out on the limb for this fat ass

We might need a whole separate thread for Texas' friend who knows things.
No sh*t.
I've been listening to the wrong people this whole time. Gimme the 95% guy.
I do actually think he is better than most GMs at evaluating talent. You put him and my Eagles friend in a front office and give them the resources of an NFL team and they'd easily outperform the majority of teams.
He's also the only person I have ever seen to have had a perfect fantasy football season. You laugh, but I remember an ESPN analysis (I think it was ESPN) from like a decade ago estimating the odds of that are even less than a perfect NFL season. The fact is- he knows how to evaluate players, especially QB, RB, and WR. He has rarely been wrong about our draft picks.
