OT: Hard Knocks

Post by YoHoChecko »

Here is the full list of teams eligible for Hard Knocks in 2025—as long as they are not in the to-be-determined division featured on Hard Knocks: In Season.

Arizona Cardinals
Atlanta Falcons
Baltimore Ravens
Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers
Cincinnati Bengals
Denver Broncos
Green Bay Packers
Houston Texans
Indianapolis Colts
Kansas City Chiefs
Miami Dolphins
Minnesota Vikings
New York Giants
Philadelphia Eagles
Pittsburgh Steelers
San Francisco 49ers
Seattle Seahawks
Tennessee Titans
Washington Commanders
I want the Hard Knocks In-Season to follow the AFC South: Travis Hunter and a new regime in Jacksonville; Cam Ward in Tennessee; the continuing evolution of Stroud and the Texans; Anthony Richardson fighting for his career in Indy.

I want offseason Hard Knocks to be the Giants because that QB room is going to be hilarious.

I also could ride with the NFC East in-season to get us that Giants QB room and then focus on the Cardinals or Seahawks in the training camp one.

A Complete List of NFL Teams Eligible for 2025 'Hard Knocks' Based on New Criteria
Where could NFL Films be heading this summer?

Tom Dierberger | Apr 2, 2025

For decades, these sights and sounds have unofficially marked the beginning of a new NFL season as the familiar scenes in HBO's annual hit docuseries Hard Knocks: Training Camp. That show will be back this summer to usher in another exciting season of NFL football.

Although it's not known which team Hard Knocks: Training Camp will follow leading up to the 2025 campaign, the NFL recently loosened its criteria to determine which franchises are eligible to appear on the show.

So, following the new guidelines and by the process of elimination, let's find out which fan bases could have the opportunity to watch their favorite team on Hard Knocks this year:

Eliminated: Teams with a first-year head coach

Franchises who hired a coach this offseason are not eligible to be featured on Hard Knocks. This eliminates the seven teams who rode the coaching carousel following the 2024 campaign: the Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.

Eliminated: Teams who are featured on 'Hard Knocks: In Season' in 2025 and '26

The Hard Knocks: In Season edition of the show began in 2021 following the Indianapolis Colts throughout their 9–8 campaign. The show pivoted in 2024 by featuring all four teams in the AFC North throughout the year, and the NFL plans to highlight each division on Hard Knocks: In Season every eight years. The Hard Knocks: In Season division has yet to be announced for 2025 or '26, but those four teams won't be featured on Hard Knocks: Training Camp this summer.

Eliminated: Teams featured on 'Hard Knocks: Training Camp' over the last eight years

These nine teams have appeared on Hard Knocks: Training Camp over the last eight years and won't be the show's topic this summer: the Bears (2024), Jets (2023), Detroit Lions (2022), Cowboys (2021), Los Angeles Chargers (2020), Los Angeles Rams (2020), Raiders (2019), Cleveland Browns (2018) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2017).

Which NFL teams are eligible for 'Hard Knocks: Training Camp' this summer?

If your favorite team hasn't been mentioned above, the NFL Films crew could be heading your way this summer.

For some reason, I have never been able to get into Hard Knocks. A lot of seasons even sound interesting. But then I just don't tune in. And any stuff that's interesting from those seasons end up being circulated on social media anyway within minutes of being aired on TV.

Social media has ruined TV. We just have so much access now that these docuseries don't provide the same punch as they did 15 years ago.

I cant imagine the NFL not jumping at one of the teams that have been exempt for years like us. Popular team that has never been on the show. I could also see them just going Eagles too and having the SB champs as the team to follow.

I think doing the NFC East for the In-Season division would be a really fun way to get the Super Bowl Champs involve because of the rising Commanders, the national headlines of the Cowboys and the QB roller coaster of the Giants

Probably biased but I think we have the most competitive division. I’d love to see the North

Oh a thousand percent. I literally just assumed on a packers board a preference toward the NFC North was a given

The Packers have the popularity and some fun training camp quirks like the bikes and large crowds at practices, but we usually severely lack in drama. No QB battle, no super high and popular draft picks, not much controversy. Can’t do week after week of Jaime -watch.

So I think it’s unlikely to be us, but not inconceivable.

If it is the Packers, it will be the first time I watch. I suspect it will be for the large fan base, the uniqueness, and the first time possible.

I probably wouldnt' watch no matter who, even GB. I haven't ever watched one. I've always felt, if you want to know what it's like inside a locker room or in that team building phase of Training, be a part of the team. Otherwise you just don't get to know other than what they want to share later with a reporter. Doesn't matter the sport, military basic training, or even how a team of engineers comes up with how to build my favorite truck. Want to know? Become one :)

I don't think the NFL needs this to build popularity but I guess it keeps people talking.

I watched one season, and it wasn’t bad drama. But starting a second season I realized it was all the same: Kids moving to new places, some roster battles, players getting hurt, UDFAs hoping to get noticed, cutdown day tears and joy… Seen it once, seen it all.

If it was the Packers, I’d watch just to get to know some of them better. But hope that doesn’t happen, since zero distractions is the optimal number.
