Draft Day 3
Moderators: NCF, salmar80, BF004, APB, Packfntk
I would be very, very happy with this day. Obviously love Swinson and the different type of pass rusher he brings. I want a smaller guy. I also love CJ West or Phillips as a Day 3 run stuffer.
I think CB is going to be tough to fill. CB is the weakest position I see on the team right now.

If they land Swinson or Kennard today I'm fine with whatever else. Those guys will be steady NFL dudes. I see P smith level in them

With days 1 and 2 in the books, I almost have to ask how the Pack could even consider drafting any offense on day 3? Maybe they find a developmental QB. Otherwise...?
We are stacked at RB, WR, TE, QB, and how the OLine looks fully stacked.

One thing this 2025 draft (days 1 and 2) is showing us is that the Packers are looking at the long term, not merely 2025!
With all the guys who are possibly playing their last year in GB, or have lingering health concerns, Guty has worked to restock the cupboard for the long haul. There'll be growing pains this year, again. But it could become crazy good in 2026!

I really like Zah Frazier and Jason Marshal at CB still. Quincey Riley is my top guy. Replace Haire with another Louisville CB.
Honesty I would take Royals at this point despite the 2 other WRs you drafted. I think he’s too good to not have gone by now. Next Terry McClaurin.
Farmer is my favorite DT left. I think he’s a starter. I love Ty Robinson but not sure how well he fits into this scheme. He would be way better in a 3-4. I have interest in Stackhouse and JordanPhillips as well.
We need 1 more LB IMO. You can’t be serious about keeping Quay right now and should find some insurance. McDuffie was resigned but is average. Welch was resigned but is a teams guy. I love Stutsman.
Edge still has some talent but nothing special anymore. With how many that have been taken there may be a good shot at some falling.

Cancelled by the forum elites.
You consider it, especially after 4th round, if an offensive player is BPA, and you can't pull off a good value deal. Simple as that. If they don't manage to beat out the last rostered OL, WR, Ben Sims, Emmanuel Wilson or Sean Clifford, so be it.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑26 Apr 2025 10:07With days 1 and 2 in the books, I almost have to ask how the Pack could even consider drafting any offense on day 3? You don't fill needs with late round picks, it's all fliers.
Still, I do expect us to go more D heavy, if we can.

I don't necessarily agree or disagree with your point above about the Packers looking at the long term with their first 3 picks, I can see viable arguments either way when it comes to short or long term impact and emphasis, but, if you are correct that the Packers draft means they are looking at the long term, it would confirm my belief that when GM Brian Gutekunst said three months ago that “The thing that’s been on my mind as we concluded this season is we need to continue to ramp up our sense of urgency,” he was directing that statement to others with the Packer organization.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑26 Apr 2025 10:09One thing this 2025 draft (days 1 and 2) is showing us is that the Packers are looking at the long term, not merely 2025!

I'dbe willing to bet that the WR room may have been one of the targets of that statement.
Former Badger Dike goes with the first pick today to the Titans, and we're off and running!

Anyone okay with DJ Giddens in round 4 since we're apparently standing pat on D?

CJ West to the 49ers. Wasn't sure he was on our board. A bit short and short arms may have kept him off.

RIP JustJeff
I locked on him late. I didn't actually think we'd take him. I figured someone else would jump up and take a shot on the traits.

Damn. Quincy Riley off the board. I would have loved him with our 5th rounder.
Farmer just got picked. Wonder if we'll look at picking up a vet body to play some DT reps.

RIP JustJeff
Sanders is a Brown. I mean, that makes the most sense, right? After all this, just add to the disappointment of Sanders and the Browns organization and fans.
